About Us

The Eighth Army Veterans, City Of Manchester hold monthly meetings and regular social events.  It has a quarterly newsletter, "The Manchester Veteran", distributed by post to 300 or so remaining veterans and dependents who are connected with us.  An electronic version of the newsletter is sent out via e-mail.

We welcome interest in our Association.  Full Membership is available to those who served in the Eighth Army, and is also open to members of the Mediterranean Fleet, the Desert Air Force, the British First Army and those British Divisions allocated to the American 5th Army in Italy.  Applications should be sent to the e-mail address below.  Associate Membership is by invitation. 

Any veteran or spouse wishing to be put on the mailing list for "The Manchester Veteran" should contact us with their name, address and service details (veterans to include their service number, please). The MV Editor, Fred Hirst, is always grateful for contributions and news for inclusion.
