Social Events The Manchester Eighth Army Veterans Association has always had a programme of social events. There are formal Christmas & Summer Dinners, invariably well attended. During the course of the year, there are many less formal outings and get togethers. In the past we have had regular weekend holidays and pub lunches. These days, few of our Members are still driving and so events are more local.
During the last year or so, we have had lunch at Harry Ramsdens, a trip to Wythenshawe theatre, a visit to the Imperial War Museum North for the re-display of the National Standards and a major party for the 60th anniversary of VE Day.
Planning for the future is a key part of our approach to retirement. If anyone has tickets for the 2012 London Olympics, can they please let us know!
